Graph Leader Also Reveals Connectors for Snowflake and Tableau, Announces Hackathon Winners, and Shares Early Release of Graph-Powered Analytics Book at Graph + AI Summit 2021

REDWOOD CITY, CA – April 21, 2021 – TigerGraph, provider of the leading graph analytics platform, today announced that the company continues to accelerate the adoption, application, and use of graph analytics on the cloud with broadened support across all cloud providers. TigerGraph Cloud is accessible with Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and now, GCP. The company also announced connectors for Snowflake and Tableau, meaning users can access relationship analytics directly from their Snowflake and Tableau dashboards; valuable data insights are now just a few clicks away. TigerGraph made these announcements and shared details about its growing global developer community and more at Graph + AI Summit 2021, the industry’s only open conference devoted to accelerating analytics, AI, and machine learning with graph algorithms.

“AI augmentation will create nearly $3 trillion in business value in 2021, with graph being recognized as a foundational capability within today’s organizations,” said Dr. Yu Xu, founder and CEO of TigerGraph. “Businesses have struggled to capitalize on AI because it requires contextual awareness and an understanding of the data across multiple entities. Graph technologies can answer these critical business questions in minutes, where it takes weeks with other data management systems. Our vision behind hosting Graph + AI is to unite the ecosystem, and we’re seeing more of these attendees this year. The fact that there is a 200% increase in Graph + AI Summit registrants — just six months after the first Graph + AI World event — speaks to the ever-increasing appetite for graph among today’s forward-looking companies.”

    Expanded Product Functionality

TigerGraph has expanded its product functionality with new TigerGraph Cloud support for Google Cloud Platform workloads. Just two months after announcing a $105 million Series C funding round, the largest funding round to date within the graph database and analytics market, TigerGraph Cloud is now the only distributed graph database-as-a-service available on all three major cloud platforms — AWS, Azure, and GCP.

TigerGraph’s distributed native graph architecture helps organizations scale fast and analyze many different aspects of data to form new models and generate new insights. TigerGraph Cloud users can:

    • Use TigerGraph Cloud for free using free tier instances

    • Standard JDBC and ODBC database connectors provide the foundation for a wealth of integrations

    Expanded Global Developer Community

In addition to extending its product capabilities, TigerGraph is listening to its developer community by rolling out new support and services. TigerGraph’s Developer Community is a global network for developers that fosters a collaborative, supportive, and developer-centric environment. Developers are invited to join a virtual ecosystem located on TigerGraph’s website (community.tigergraph.com) where they can share information, ask questions, and collaborate with developers at all skill levels. While other technology companies rely on their users to share troubleshooting information in their communities, TigerGraph is actively engaged with its product team to interactively answer questions. This ongoing effort is led by TigerGraph’s manager of developer relations and liaison to the product team, Jon Herke.

TigerGraph enables developers to work in a team-like environment rather than troubleshooting issues alone without resources. Developers can share the courses they created, hackathon entries, blogs they are writing, and ask general questions about using TigerGraph. Herke runs a daily session on digital distribution platform Discord where developers ask impromptu questions, discuss clever solutions, or simply chat. In fact, other companies and products have replicated TigerGraph’s Discord Community due to its success in attracting and maintaining a lively, active developer community.

If you would like to be immersed in the latest TigerGraph ecosystem activities, join the developer relations team on TigerGraph Discord (Developer) Community every weekday at 8:15 a.m. CST to listen in or become active in current open-source efforts including:

Learn more about Exadel’s Toolbox for Adobe Experience Manager: (https://exadel.com/solutions/toolbox-for-aem/).

This initial release includes four different solutions — Exadel Authoring Kit, Exadel Backpack, Exadel Link Inspector and Exadel Environment Switcher — which each add to the developer experience while using Adobe Experience Manager:

    • Exadel Authoring Kit — is Exadel’s open-source solution that offers a set of tools that create Granite UI authoring interfaces for Adobe Experience Manager components from Java source code. The kit has grown from a basic set of routines into a comprehensive solution that makes different widgets work in a coordinated manner, provides greater interactivity with Adobe Experience Manager dialogues, and introduces some additional features (such as customizable data lists). The Exadel Authoring Kit makes Adobe Experience Manager development faster, easier to debug, and more accurate, while improving the overall user experience.
    • Exadel Backpack — is Exadel’s open-source take on the Package Manager that comes standard with Adobe Experience Manager. The intuitive Exadel Backpack allows authors to bundle data along with its dependencies and references (such as referenced images or documents), saving time, reducing errors, and adding transparency to the authoring experience.
    • Exadel Link Inspector — is a solution for discovering, reporting on, and remedying broken links. The tool expands on the out-of-box functionality offered by Adobe Experience Manager. Exadel Link Inspector identifies the page, location, and component of each broken link and gives the option to fix links once and propagate the change throughout all locations that contain it. Exadel Link Inspector also comes with a wide array of filters to narrow down link results. This is especially useful for sites with a high volume of pages, because it makes results easier to digest, analyze, and act upon.
    • Exadel Environment Switcher — switching between a wide variety of environments (Dev, QA, Pre-Prod, Production) and modes (Author, Publish) can be cumbersome and is solved by Exadel Environment Switcher. Once configured, this Chrome browser plug-in makes accurate switching as seamless as a couple of clicks. Configurations can also be shared across teams.

“We are very excited to launch Exadel Toolbox for Adobe Experience Manager and its four initial solutions,” said Lev Shur, President of Exadel Solutions. “We consider this to be the beginning of a larger expansion of developer tools to help the marketing technology community get the most out of Adobe Experience Manager. We use our own tools on a daily basis, as they help us deliver additional value to our customers. Through Exadel Toolbox and the other solutions created by our Marketing Technology Practice, we are able to develop faster and more accurately. We look forward to sharing more with Adobe Summit attendees.”

During Adobe Summit 2021, attendees will have the ability to contact Exadel’s Marketing Technology Practice team to set up a consultation with the creators of Exadel Toolbox. The consultation will include:

    • Demonstrations on how to use the various tools in the Exadel Toolbox

  • DevOps Institute Announces the ‘Upskilling 2021: Enterprise DevOps Skills Report’

With new data gathered from over 2,000 IT professionals worldwide, the report shows the continued adoption of DevOps must be supported through a learning organization and the continuous development of multi-faceted, skilled DevOps professionals

BOCA RATON, Fla. – April 21, 2021 – DevOps Institute, a global professional association for advancing the human elements of DevOps, today announced the release of the “Upskilling 2021: Enterprise DevOps Skills Report.” In its third year, the report examines DevOps hiring trends around the globe within enterprise IT organizations of all sizes. In addition to DevOps roles, the report examines the top skill domains and associated must-have skills within these domains, which are essential for a successful DevOps journey. Data in the 2021 report is based on research gathered from an open survey of more than 2,000 respondents from organizations of all sizes around the world.

The report is available for download at https://info.devopsinstitute.com/2021-upskilling-report-download

“DevOps Humans remained in-demand, despite a global pandemic that upended our ways of life and business,” said Jayne Groll, CEO of DevOps Institute. “This is a testament to the importance and value of DevOps transformations at companies across industries and around the globe. The findings in the 2021 Upskilling Report give us clarity into the evolution of DevOps Humans and how IT organizations will shape their talent-based structures in 2021 and beyond.”

The research and data analysis was led by DevOps Institute’s Chief Research and Content Officer, Eveline Oehrlich, with support from Platinum Sponsor, GitLab; Gold Sponsors, CloudBees and The LLPA; Bronze Sponsors, Tricentis and HCL Software; and Media Sponsor, MediaOps.

Key Findings from the ‘Upskilling 2021: Enterprise DevOps Skills Report’ include:

    • Stop talking about being a learning organization and start acting. Seventy percent of survey respondents said that a learning organization was a predominant model–the DevOps way of working–while 45 percent leaned toward a safety culture. And, while 39 percent of IT teams are still struggling with a defined and systematic upskilling program, 52 percent of organizations already have a formally designed upskilling program or are currently developing one.
    • Hiring for DevOps initiatives is high. COVID-19 has not stopped the hiring of DevOps roles. Sixty percent of organizations are recruiting now or in the future.
    • Capabilities and skill development must go hand in hand. DevOps teams must assess which critical capabilities they can perform or not, across key areas. But capabilities must be supported with skilled DevOps Humans. Upon examining the priority domain skill categories, the survey data shows that the essential combination of skills for a successful DevOps human are across the automation, human, technical, functional, process and framework knowledge skill domain categories.
    • Pressure continues to force old IT operating models to change.  As new forms of hybrid computing are on the rise, it gives application developers more freedom to choose tools and programming languages. As this increases, IT operations teams not yet practicing DevOps feel more pressure to embrace DevOps.
    • Value Stream Management (VSM) skills are seen by 39 percent of respondents as a must-have skill within the process and framework skill domain. DevOps and Agile practices have been adopted to innovate and create more iterative approaches for software development and delivery. However, the value must come through the customer lens. This is where VSM comes in. In simple terms, understanding and examining value streams of software being delivered end-to-end enables teams to make complex processes visible and provides the ability to pivot towards further value improvement.
    • The adoption of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) as an operating model is 22 percent in 2021 compared to 15 percent in the previous year. SRE is needed to continue automation and reduce toil. Forty-seven percent of the survey respondents voted SRE skills as a must-have skill in the process and framework skill domain this year compared to 28 percent in the previous year’s survey.
    • DevSecOps is a key trend. Security is integral to protect the business and enforce internal and external policies of the company. DevSecOps makes security an equal consideration alongside development and operations. According to survey participants, DevSecOps achieved a must-have percentage vote of 56 percent in the automation tool category.
    • New models such as DataOps and ModelOps are showing up. DataOps was voted by 27 percent as a must-have skill domain in the automation tool skill domain, whereas ModelOps received 22 percent. These new models are shaping the ongoing iterations of DevOps operating models.
    • DevOps Engineers are the most in-demand job title this year. It represents 53 percent of recently recruited DevOps positions. The DevOps engineer’s responsibility might differ from company to company, but all should be engaged in upskilling themselves and their teams.

“Our research shows that the future of DevOps at any organization is dependent upon the breadth and depth of capabilities and the supporting skills of the team members and within the team,” said Oehrlich. “A successful DevOps journey (actually any journey) has the DNA of a learning organization which means there is a commitment of continuous learning across all layers and players. Team members have changed their mental models to look at different views working in a collective and collaborative team. For example, problems and mistakes are opportunities to learn. This ability to continuously learn enables individuals and teams to work better together across boundaries regardless of process, team or technology boundaries. This mental continuous learning model will take time to develop, adapt and apply. Still, each individual can bring their skills and abilities to shape the bigger collective effort of DevOps. For everyone in IT, this is an exciting time to unlock your power, abilities and skills to accelerate your DevOps journey and that of your team and company. DevOps Human readiness and organizational learning must take on new importance now and in this next normal.”

  • RapidAPI Raises $60M to Support Developer Growth and Fuel Expansion of Leading API Platform

New fundraise supports company’s accelerated growth as API-first digital transformation becomes a top initiative across all industries

SAN FRANCISCO- April 21, 2021 – RapidAPI, a next-generation API platform that enables developers and enterprises to find, connect to, and manage thousands of APIs, announced today that it has raised $60M million in its Series C funding round. The financing was led by Green Bay Ventures and includes new investor, Stripes. Existing investors include Andreessen Horowitz, DNS Capital, M12 (Microsoft’s Venture Fund), Viola Growth and Grove Ventures, bringing the total amount raised for RapidAPI to $122.5 million.

The investment comes on the heels of a  high-growth year for RapidAPI amidst a pandemic that drove a record number of developers and companies to the RapidAPI platform to advance their digital initiatives and accelerate the delivery of their software and services to the market.

Driven by the explosion of APIs, federation of API programs, acceleration of cloud initiatives, and the push to microservices, companies have turned to RapidAPI to modernize their infrastructure in order to remain competitive in today’s environment of digital disruption.

The recent fundraise will be used to support the influx of new developers to the platform, the onboarding of leading API providers to the public marketplace, and the expansion of the API platform, including RapidAPI’s Enterprise Hub  to serve the rapidly-growing  enterprise customer base.

“As APIs become the building blocks for digital transformation efforts across all industries, we’ve seen a fundamental shift toward API platforms and tools like RapidAPI that are built to handle the realities of today’s complex, multi-cloud, multiservice, and multi-API environments,” said Iddo Gino, RapidAPI Founder and CEO. “RapidAPI’s next-generation platform is uniquely built for modern software development, providing a unified experience across the entire development life cycle, allowing millions of developers to connect with thousands of APIs and microservices.”

Added Gino, “Over the course of the year, we’ve made significant investments in our platform, adding API testing and API design through the acquisition of Paw in February. The additional funding will enable us to continue to build a flexible API platform with the features and functionality needed to provide developers and organizations with a flexible platform that  integrates with an organization’s existing software development environment, making it easier to find, connect to, and manage APIs.”

A Year of Developer Adoption, Product Innovation, and Enterprise Traction

Recent reports, including the second annual RapidAPI Developer Survey Report , indicate that developer reliance on APIs accelerated during the pandemic and will continue to increase in 2021. In fact, according to the survey, 61% of developers used more APIs in 2020 than in 2019, and 71% plan to use even more this year.

This trend was also apparent by usage of the RapidAPI platform. Over the last 12 months,  RapidAPI  has experienced significant growth across its platform. RapidAPI has almost 3 million developers on the marketplace, adding more than 750,000 new developers over the course of the year.  Additionally, there are now more than 35,000 APIs on the Marketplace, doubling the number from the same time last year. RapidAPI is continuing to add more than 1,000 new APIs per month, offering APIs from providers that include Microsoft, IBM, Twilio, SendGrid, Nexmo, Crunchbase, and more.

Paid API subscriptions were also on the rise in 2020, as 12,000 new API subscribers were added to the platform. Another area of significant growth is with RapidAPI for Teams. RapidAPI for Teams enables developers to create a private workspace to share and collaborate on internal APIs and microservices within their team. Today, there are more than 55,000 teams on RapidAPI.

RapidAPI has also seen an increase in the number of enterprises that are using the RapidAPI Enterprise Hub, a white-labeled version of its Marketplace that enables development teams, partners, and customers  to discover and connect to internal APIs as well as external API subscriptions. Over the last year, RapidAPI has more than doubled the number of companies using the RapidAPI Platform, including Fortune 500 organizations across the financial services, insurance, telecom, and hospitality sectors.

Finally, the company expanded its API Platform to add a host of new capabilities and features from Gateway integration to support new types of APIs such as Kafka and new products such as RapidAPI Testing and RapidAPI Design by Paw,

    RapidAPI By the Numbers

  • New Research From Applause Finds Siloed Development Processes Impact How Brands Serve Customers

Silos slow development and hurt QA efficiency, leading to more expensive, buggier releases

New Applause In-Sprint Testing offering shifts testing left in the SDLC for a faster, more iterative process that results in higher quality and increased release velocity

Boston–April 21, 2021 – Software development productivity is increasingly impacted by testing demands and siloed processes, according to new data from Applause, the worldwide leader in enabling digital quality. These issues negatively affect the speed at which brands can release new features to their end users; they also hit brands’ bottom lines – as bugs become more expensive and require added effort to fix when found later on in the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

These findings come from Applause’s April 2021 survey of more than 1,800 QA, product, engineering and DevOps professionals across the globe on the state of shift-left testing.

The survey found that, when done correctly, shifting testing left provides unique benefits. Respondents noted that the three top drivers for shifting left are to:

    • Reduce the number of bugs released to end users;
    • Save the costs of later-stage bug fixes;
    • Release features/builds faster.

However, many organizations still face challenges with their shift-left strategy. The survey found that the top two barriers to successfully shifting left are that developers are too busy coding and that development and QA efforts remain siloed. Organizations that have already shifted left face many of the same roadblocks:

    • Fifty-two percent of respondents said the time their organizations’ developers spend on testing is impacting their productivity.
    • Nearly half (44%) of respondents at large organizations that are already shifting left said their development teams spend a full work day every single week just testing new features.

While the benefits of shifting left are clear, the right processes and technology must be in place to do so successfully. To help brands realize these benefits and the full potential of shifting left, Applause today announced the availability of its new offering, Applause In-Sprint Testing. The offering, which was previewed earlier this year as part of Applause’s Product Excellence Platform, helps organizations shift their testing earlier in the SDLC and augments internal teams’ ability to test smaller chunks of code quickly and in an iterative model.

With Applause In-Sprint Testing, a developer sends a feature for testing directly to Applause’s SaaS platform with the click of a button. This simple, one-click process is enabled by Applause’s bi-directional integrations with the leading bug tracking systems. Once the feature goes to Applause, a pre-built team of testers sourced from Applause’s global community of digital experts starts testing the core functionality of the feature right away so that results can be returned almost immediately.

The new offering not only speeds up release velocity and improves quality by making testing easier and more iterative throughout the SDLC, it also reduces context switching – which 44% of developers in Applause’s survey highlighted as a current issue at their organization.

“Applause In-Sprint Testing is designed to help the world’s leading brands maintain and improve quality while keeping up with the speed demands of Agile methodologies,” said Jan Wolter, General Manager of Applause EU. “It takes only a single click to start testing and results are logged directly into the customer’s bug tracking system for ease of use. The entire process takes place within just hours, so that the customer’s developers get immediate results and don’t risk having to re-acclimate themselves to code from days or weeks earlier, as is often the case when organizations don’t have a solution like Applause In-Sprint Testing in place.”

  • strongDM hires former Slack and PagerDuty go-to-market leaders to drive next phase of growth

First ever VP Sales and CMO hired to scale go-to-market operations for the only zero trust infrastructure access network that DevOps can deploy as code

Burlingame, CA – April x, 2021- strongDM, the first infrastructure access networking company, today announced the appointment of two key executives. Mike Clapson, former Slack Enterprise sales leader, joins as strongDM’s first Vice President of Sales, and Nisha Ahluwalia, previously CMO at PagerDuty, has joined the company as its first Chief Marketing Officer.

Mike and Nisha will build and scale the go-to-market functions to meet the demand of zero trust, as required by enterprises and startups alike. strongDM is the only way for businesses to adopt a zero trust model that also enables DevOps teams to implement access-as-code. End users get just-in-time access to every resource they need and security teams get the precise audit details they require.

“I know first-hand what enterprises look for,” said Mike. “Big companies and growing businesses alike have a fragmented access model that slows users down, leaving security gaps and operational holes across shared keys and credentials. Legacy approaches waste technical staff’s time and are opaque, leaving Engineering Leaders and CISOs blind to what’s really going on within their environments.  strongDM’s approach is exactly what companies need to enable a modern work-from-anywhere model without compromising on either user experience or network security.”

Mike Clapson brings over a decade of sales and enterprise experience to strongDM.  He has held multiple sales leadership roles at Slack, including their US Enterprise West Coast business and establishing Slack’s first APAC hub in Melbourne, Australia. Prior to Slack, Mike was at Mobify, a Salesforce Company, where he built and led the channel and partner sales organization, and prior to that, in Enterprise Sales at SAP.

“I’ve worked with so many developer-focused companies, and their technical leaders are discerning buyers,” said Nisha. “Above all else, they want a no B.S. product that lets them focus on the things that matter most. strongDM is just that. It’s an unparalleled, substantive offering that solves for the underlying cause of a big problem, not just the symptoms. No matter what market trend or acronym you subscribe to, strongDM brings developers and security teams together with one tool everyone actually uses and loves – and I’m delighted to be a part of it.”

Nisha Ahluwalia comes to strongDM with 20 years of experience across all facets of marketing. As PagerDuty’s CMO, Nisha built and scaled their DevOps-focused marketing team in support of both product-led and enterprise sales growth. As VP of Product Marketing at RingCentral, she launched and managed its Office product line, instrumental to a successful IPO.  Prior to RingCentral, Nisha held several marketing roles at Cisco WebEx. Most recently, Nisha worked in an advisory capacity for early and late stage startups, and continues to be Chief Mom Officer, responsible for her children’s life operations.
